Fairhaven Neighbors
ZOOM MEETING
WEDNESDAY JUNE 2 @ 7 PM
Meeting ID: 820 3665 7646
Passcode: 824936
Two speakers will present important information for our neighborhood.
First on the agenda is Kristin McCade, Sources Pollution Prevention Specialist, on behalf of ReSources and the Sierra Club, making a request to do more in-depth vetting of results of City's proposed plan to build an anaerobic digester at Post Point that would compost sewage sludge into Class A sewage solids (a.k.a. biosolids). Extensive research by Re Sources and Sierra Club indicates there needs to be more thorough testing of the toxins in sewage sludge. Use of spreading sewage sludge has been banned in 2 countries and several
U.S. states because the solids pose an unreasonable risk to residents, public health, and the environment.
You will want to stay and hear Natale Szabo of Ridwell Recycling tell us what Ridwell Recycling recycles that is not included in our Sanitary Services recycling. Natale is later in the hour, at her request, because of an earlier time commitment. She will answer your questions including why we need Ridwell Recycling and what is the cost.
Everyone is welcome to the entire meeting.
Janet, our host, extends you an invitation to stay and socialize after the meeting is adjourned (approximately one hour).
